Damon may have been a little bit terrified of her at the moment, but that wasn’t stopping him from thoroughly enjoying every aspect of this situation. He would never let her know this, but he wanted to kiss her every sense eighth grade when she gone from being the cold-hearted loner to be the hot cold-hearted loner. He’d pictured it quite a bit, but he’d never thought it would quite as—exhilarating—as this.
He was still in a daze when she pulled away, which wasn’t his favorite place to be. He preferred to be aware of every moment. He glanced down just as Calista told him she had it. He stared at her blankly for second. Got what? Then he remembered, the flash drive, their mission, school, duh. “Right.” He said, hiding the fact that he was totally spacing. He gave Calista another look. Was it just him or did she looked a little flushed? Maybe she was just feeling the rush of the mission. He smirked, yeah right, more likely she was flushed with her desire for yours truly. And with that, the Damon he knew and loved had returned. He wrapped his arm over her shoulder, pulling her close against him. Just because they had the flash drive was no reason to drop their cover. That was basic spy stuff, and certainly not a genius move on Damon’s, but he was grateful for it just the same.
They had almost reached the exit when Damon leaned down into her neck, whispering. “So, next stop, computers, which happens to be my area of expertise.” That wasn’t exactly true, but he was better with them than he was at other stuff, like say, covert operations.
